PET SITTING

Due to the expansion of our business, we have decided to focus on our core business of cleaning up Austin, one dog at a time, and will no longer offer petsitting services.  There are many great petsitters in Austin, and below we've decided to recommend a couple.  All offer in-home petsitting, are bonded and insured and have many customers that LOVE them. See their websites for areas served and rates for services.  Most will also drop off and pick up your pup for grooming appointments. Imagine: going to work and coming home to a clean pup!  Also, ask about any "Dirty Dog" specials for new customers :)

BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION

Tara Stermer has been helping "misunderstood" pets learn to be valued and loved members of their families for 15 years.  Many of you know her as your beloved groomer at our South First shop, but this is another one of her passions.  Just check out her home page to see her pack of rehabilitated dogs...it's amazing!  To see a list of classes and find out more information:

 ***UPDATE 8/2009***

Tara has opened her center--3 acres in East Austin!  They offer indoor training (except agility) and now offer regular boarding, not just board and train.  Because, she is so popular AND they've decided to keep boarding numbers limited, they book up FAST.  Please call way in advance for appointments!

CPR/FIRST AID CLASSES

We will offer this class once a month at various locations. This four-hour Pet First Aid & CPR class is perfect for pet owners and pet professionals. You will get plenty of hands-on practice as you learn CPR, rescue breathing, choking management, bleeding and shock management, bandaging wounds, insect bites & stings, snake bites, pet first aid contents, and more The class includes a handbook, and upon successful completion, each participant will receive a certificate. The class is taught by Therese Kopiwoda, of Austin Pet First Aid, who is a certified Pet Tech instructor. For more information and to register, visit: http://www.austinpetfirstaid.com

CANINE MASSAGE

EVEN OUR PUPS GET SORE MUSCLES!

Dogs, just like humans get muscle tension, tightness and sprains that can lead to pain, headaches and decreased mobility.  Dogs don't complain or ask for a Tylenol.  Instead they compensate by using other muscle groups.

EVERY SUNDAY, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, AT OUR GUADALUPE SHOP WE WILL OFFER:

  • Accupressure--can increase circulation, relieve pain and muscle tension and can even stimulate cell growth
  • Sports Massage--great for athletic/sporting dogs who participate in agility or even just a lot of "fetch", warming up and relaxing over-used muscle groups

Therapeutic Massage--great for dogs with arthritis, anziety, heart or kidney problems

All massages will be performed by Christina Hardinger, a certified Canine Massage Practitioner from The Rocky Mountain School of Animal Acupressure and Massage and a member of IAAMB, The International Association of Animal Massage and Bodywork.

Our customers will recieve $5 off their first visit, but appointments are VERY limited, so please contact us to reserve your space or with any other questions:
