Introduction to First and CPR for Dogs and Cats

Introduction to First and CPR for Dogs and Cats - It's Mouth to
Snout Baby!

Would you know what to do if an animal stopped breathing?
Unlike People, Pets do not have a 911 system of emergency response. But
pet owners can learn basic Pet CPR and First Aid. In this introductory
course you will learn how to recognize life threatening emergencies and
provide basic care before arriving at your Veterinarian or emergency vet
office. Quick action is what saves lives. A good solid introduction to
more extensive courses in emergency response offered by CPR for Pets and
People. For over 16 years our motto has been - "Learn CPR and First Aid,
Good for Pets, Good for People!"

Feng Shui for Happy Pets and Yappy Hour

We've all heard about how applying the principles of Feng Shui in your home can improve your life. Well, what about the "furry roommates" that live with you?

Feng shui — which literally translates to "wind and water" — is the ancient Chinese art of placement. The goal is to enhance the flow of chi (life force or spiritual energy), and to create harmonious environments that support health, beckon wealth and invite happiness. At its most basic level, feng shui (pronounced fung shway) is a decorating discipline based on the belief that our surroundings affect us.

Come to our Valentine event where you will hear tips on using Feng Shui to promote health and happiness for both pets and humans. Note: You'll have to train them to chant "Ommmmm" on your own!

Must pre-register here to attend:

https://petsfengshui.eventbrite.com

**Attendees will receive a voucher for a self-serve wash to be used at any of our locations at another time.

Feel free to bring your pet if on a leash and well-behaved.

Stay after the workshop for some more socializing.  We'll have some sweet valentine treats for humans and pets.  Beverages.  Door prizes.

Collecting Needed Items for Austin Pets Alive!

Collecting Needed Items for Austin Pets Alive!

Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) is not a typical shelter setting. Their innovative programs save more than 6,000 animals from euthanasia annually, keeping Austin no-kill since 2011. A no kill community saves 90% of the animals that enter the shelter. The Austin Community has made huge strides in the no-kill movement,  becoming the largest no-kill city in the country within less than a year of the initiative.

APA! Created specialized programs for adoptable pets in great need: puppies with parvovirus, orphaned kittens, cats with ringworm, dogs with behavior challenges, geriatric animals, and more.

Dirty Dog Self- Serve Dogwash will be collecting items at each of our locations to assist APA! in their efforts.  If wanting to help in the drive, please drop one of these items:

  • Treat logs (Natural Balance or Red Barn)
  • Large Kongs
  • KMR (Kitten Milk Replacer)
  • Wet dog food

For anyone that donates these four  items will receive 10% off self-serve OR full-serve.
